A five-star property within the small streets of Chandini Chowk is an unusual sight. Itâs interesting how a door has two completely different worlds on each of its sides. On one side, there is a normal street which cannot be differentiated from the other streets of Chandini Chowk, whereas on the other side you have a historical heritage palace which gives the essence of the Mughal period.
The haveli was restored by Vijay Goel and Siddhant Goel, who made it into a paradise like setting. This spectacular building once consisted of 60 small rooms which were redesigned, furnished and aesthetically created into 28 huge rooms which are aligned to the central courtyard. â
âThe haveli is located in a residential area at a narrow alley, which gives a feeling of vintage memory lane. It successfully preserves the heritage and culture of India through its physical features like the balconies, arched gateways, wooden doorways and carvings on the walls. The haveli gives you a cosy yet âaway-from-it-allâ ambiance.
The roof-top restaurant has an amazing view of Jama Masjid, Lal Mandir, Gurdwara Sis Ganj, and Red Fort. It is a perfect romantic getaway, where you can even witness âkabootar baaziâ in the evening and kite flying during festival season.
The rooms in this haveli give you a perfect feel of living in a mughal palace because of the architecture. The food offered here, is inspired by the street food that you get all over Chandini Chowk and also the typical Indian cuisine.
It is ironic how the place gives you a feeling of living in the mughal period and yet in a comfort zone of a five star hotel at the very same time.
